Choosing an Educational Consultant

The aim of this article is to provide advice and guidance in choosing a consultant in the field of education.

If you type the phrase "Educational Consultant" into Google, you will get over a million results. Because there are numerous Educational Consultants in Hyderabad and Nellore offering specialized information about the country you intend to study, the university you intend to join and the course you intend to undertake. That's a pretty daunting place to start a search when you need to find the best individual to help your student achieve success. Whether you're looking for a consultant to help you navigate the maze of special education requirements and Individualized Education Plans or you're a student from another country trying to find the best college in Canada, United States, New Zealand, Australia, Germany, Ireland, UK, Singapore or Sweden for your field of study, a good educational consultant can be the difference between success and frustration.

So, once you've narrowed down your selection to a few consultants that you are considering, how do you make that final decision?

Below are few things to consider when trying to find the right consultant.

When you are researching for a consultant make sure they have in-depth familiarity of all steps of the process from both sides of the equation, what tests and assessments are best, what schools look for in certain situations, etc.

One of the first questions you should ask a prospective consultant is: Ask them to take through the process step-by-step so you can get an understanding of what you're up against. This will serve two purposes: 1.) it will educate you to the process; and 2.) it will give you some insight into the consultant's true understanding of how things will play out. If they can take you through the milestones off the top of their head without hesitation, it usually means it's not their first rodeo.

Whether you're trying to get into a top college or you need to find out if you are qualified for special educational accommodations under state or federal laws, assessments are a large part of the process. Sometimes the consultant will be administering these assessments and other times they will be reviewing the results of assessments administered by someone else. You want to make sure that your consultant knows the testing scenarios for your particular area of need backward and forward.

Make sure you have a good enough relationship to be able to make continual progress. You don't have to be best friends, but you want to make sure the relationship is strong enough that you will feel comfortable sharing information about your educational limitations and frustrations. Open communication with your consultant is important to a successful outcome.

There are a lot of excellent consultants available for a variety of educational challenges. The above list is by no means exhaustive, but it can help you quickly identify consultants who are experienced, knowledgeable and have the disposition to work with you throughout the process.

Ireland Courts Indian Students

New Delhi: The chances and prospects of Indian students studying abroad is increasing rapidly with more and more universities around the world and particularly in the European Union make it easier to get admission to their courses. Now, Ireland has joined the list of nations which are actively seeking to attract Indian students to their universities. Recently the Minister for Child and Youth Affairs of Ireland, James Reilly announced that in light of the decline of the value of Euro in the foreign exchange market the Irish government is looking to attract students and travelers to Ireland in greater numbers. "We have around 1,800 post-graduate Indian students currently. The student visa can be extended for a year upon graduating to look for jobs. Hence, they can stay back longer," Reilly told Business Line.

Mr. Reilly is currently visiting India to promote the tourism and education in Ireland. In the interview given to Business Line the Minister said that the number of Indian students in Ireland has raised twofold in just three years and that the objective of the Irish government will be to draw 2,000 to 5,000. The Euro's decline makes living and studying in Ireland much more affordable and practical for Indian students than before and even on par with US, UK and Australia.
Other measures taken by the Irish government to boost tourism are also expected to affect the popularity of Ireland as an international education hotspot. The British Irish visa scheme which allows visitors to visit both UK and Ireland through the same single visit visa will boost tourism and also increase applications from Indian students and possibly even their families. The country received 24,000 Indian visitors last year. "It has grown by 20 per cent annually over the last four years. We are looking at 36,000 Indian visitors in 2016-17," he added.
